After several years of shielding her only child from the public, especially the media, more facts are beginning to emerge on the true identity of Genevieve Nnaji’s
daughter.

Interestingly, the unveiling of the real identity of the pretty young lady known as
Theodora Chimebuka Nnaji may finally blow open the lid on the cover of one of
the best kept secrets ever in Nollywood.
In fact, the unmasking of Theo as the amiable dark-skinned beauty is fondly called by friends, will be a huge shock to her family and famous mum, whom Oprah Winfrey once described as the Julia Roberts of Africa.

The mystery surrounding Theo’s identity as well as her relationship with the Mbaise, Imo State-born Nollywood queen has remained one of the topics the actress does
not like discussing with her colleagues and the public.

EE investigations revealed that the Genevieve lookalike was deliberately kept away from the public by her super star mum because she does not like discussing
her daughter, circumstances leading to her birth and most painfully, who her unknown dad is.

This was the main reason her identity was jealously guarded and kept away from the public for many years.

Unveiling Theo

Those who may have mistaken Theo for her celebrity mother would be easily forgiven because they so much look alike. Theo combines the visage and charm of her
thespian mother. Those who have seen her have described her as a finer version of her superstar mother who is known for her effortless combination of simplicity and panache.

Still in her early 20s, the young beauty who is about the same height as her mother was raised by her maternal grandparents in their Egbeda, Lagos family home. EE gathered that the young beauty was catered
for by her granny, who had stepped in for her then young mother. EE further learnt that her thespian mother was very young when she gave birth to Theo.

The identity of her father is unknown to the public and may probably remain so for a very long time.

EE reliably gathered from sources that while she had her primary education in Lagos, the young lady moved her secondary education to the Federal Girls College,
Akure (FGC), Ondo State. She then proceeded to Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, Anambra State, for her tertiary education. She rounded off her compulsory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) last year. There are conflicting reports about what she studied in school. While some
are claiming she read Law, others are insisting she finished with a degree in the faculty of social sciences.

Although, she is not bitten by the acting bug like her mother yet, Theo is not totally removed from the showbiz industry. A source confided in EE that she now works with AIM Group Limited owners of Cool
FM, Wazobia FM, Nigeria Info FM as well as AIM Construction Company. On the side, she runs a personal beauty business known as NAJ Makeup Artistry.

Loss of innocence

An attempt to figure how old Genevieve Nnaji was when she had Theo leaves more questions than answers. How old exactly was the actress when she had her first child? While she is expected to clock the
age of 34 officially on May 3, assuming that Theo is 22 years old, it is believed that the actress must have been 12 when she had her first child.

Insiders who are familiar with the actress’ background revealed that her sudden pregnancy while she was in secondary school became a huge embarrassment to her family in their neighbourhood. A source squealed further that the development had grave consequences
on her secondary school education as she became ostracized and ridiculed by her peers.

Is Genevieve ashamed of her daughter? Is she just shielding her from public scrutiny? Are they on good terms? These are some of the questions that has continued to trail the actress’ relationship with her twenty-something year old daughter.

In a social media age of video and picture sharing, mother and daughter are yet to be identified together in public. Aside a popular stray picture whose source is
unknown, the relationship between the two has been deliberately kept away from the public.

“If Genevieve would just come out to share her story, it would go a long way to inspire a lot of people especially young girls and single mothers,” squealed a source.

The runaway daddy

While the identity of the father of the actress’ only child is unknown, however there are strong indications that the relationship between them is very far from
being rosy. Insiders squealed that the feud dates back to the time of conception when the actress became pregnant while she was still a secondary school student. Any chance of reconciliation is out of the question according to another insider.

EE tried severally to reach the actress for reactions before going to press, but could not. All calls and sms to her known phone number was not connecting, it kept saying ‘switched off.’
